Winning Post – 1600m: The Rail has been moved from the previous meeting 12 days ago out to the 3m position from the 1000m to the winning post, staying in the true position for the remainder. The grass walks even in this section and sits in the Good 4 range, with only one race from the 2000m start this section should stay fresh throughout the day.
1600m – 1000m: All the way down the back straight it walks in good order with minimal damage from previous meetings, the grass cover is consistent across but not as lush as you would like however it will play fair and be conformable for the horses. The track walks a good 4 and with the late start hoping to keep some irrigation to race in the Good 4 range.
1000m – 400m: The rail has been moved out 3m to avoid some damage in this section from previous race meetings, with the rail out 3m this will help however we have some minor scuff marks hard along the inside but minor, the track walks a Good 4 and again will have some irrigation to keep the track close to a Good 4 as we have 5 races out of the 1200m Chute.
400m – Winning Post: In and around the home corner we have light wear and tear from high traffic of the last 2 meetings, this will improve into the straight and to the run to the post. Underfoot the track walks even across each lane and should create an even race surface. The grass again is not as lush as you would prefer but given the hot conditions and some regrowth still needed the team trackside will give the track a good drink leading into the meeting to try to keep it in the Good 4 range.
Overall: With a rail coming out 3m it will help some key spots that raced flat at previous meetings, hot day expected and later start the Good 4 range will be a kick off spot but overall the track walks even across all lanes and the big fields may play to tempo and class of horse.
