Not a lot to report in this section, it walked evenly with no significant wear to speak of. Good give in the ground, should race as a '4'.
1800m-1200m:
This area of the track is spotless and can't find any difference across the inside four lanes. Good coverage, walked a '4' and expecting it to stay in that range.
1200m-800m:
Couldn't find any lanes of note in this section other than very wide has some wear from recent jump-outs. Coverage is good, walked a '4'.
800m-400m:
Very similar to the previous section, incredibly even right across and I struggled to find any lanes of advantage. The rail is out a long way so they'll be spending a fair bit of time turning which might be a little help to those closer to the rail. Walked a '4'.
400m-Winning Post:
Can't fault the straight either. Very even right across and expecting it to race well. There's genuine give in the ground and it should also stay in the '4' range throughout the meeting.
Verdict:
Probably the most brief track report I've ever written, that's because the surface is incredibly even with no significant findings to report. I'd be disappointed if we see any pattern emerge, I'm very confident it will race well and all horses will get their chance. The last time we raced here the rail was in the 8m position from the 1200m mark and even though it only moves out an additional 3m there's essentially no wear to speak of. Ordinarily, I gravitate away from inside gates in the chute but I can't see them getting bogged down against the rail. I think tempo will be the factor that determines where the winners come from. You can bet with confidence.
