Port Lincoln Best Bets
Race 4 – I’m A Dexstar
I’m A Dexstar returns to his home track after four solid runs at metropolitan level. His latest effort saw him finish just 2.7 lengths behind Zoupurring, who is among the leading chances in Saturday’s Gytrash Series Final, which is strong form for a race of this nature.
He drops sharply from BM86 company to BM72 grade and gains a valuable 4kg claim with apprentice Jayden Kerr aboard. With an outstanding record at the Port Lincoln track and trip, he looks perfectly placed and will be incredibly hard to beat.
Race 8 – Chef De Mission
Chef De Mission finished down the track first-up at Lock, but he’s a horse who traditionally improves sharply with a run under his belt. His record over the Port Lincoln 1200m is exceptional, boasting 9 starts for 4 wins, a second and two thirds.
From barrier 3, he should get the run of the race. Expect a much stronger performance as he returns to a track and distance he loves.
