Leading South Australian Country and Provincial trainer Garret Lynch takes a two-pronged attack in search of Country Cup success to kick off the 2024-25 season in Saturday’s Roxby Downs Cup.
Lynch trained 49 winners on the country and provincial circuit last season, along with six in the city, and take two horses coming off good runs in handy provincial grade.
Jamcra comes off a Murray Bridge win beating Fox Gem and will again be ridden by apprentice Brooke King with stablemate Jamrock running fourth in the same race after jumping a $3.50 favourite.
Last-start Port Augusta Cup winner Grinzinger Star will carry 61kg in the feature after the claim for Alan Lai while Polly Brewster partners his stablemate Excelman, who was second in the Port Augusta feature, drawn barrier two.
Trevor Day also saddles up two runners – Superior Sam who has comes across from the Will Clarken and Niki O’Shea stable and Cowley’s Creek who comes off a good Murray Bridge run when beaten 2.1 lengths behind Harbouring last time.
