The Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour will once again visit South Australia in 2024. This year the Melbourne Cup will be visiting Port Lincoln on the Eyre Peninsula, Murray Bridge and Clare in the Clare Valley.
A total of 39 destinations across six countries have been selected to host the prestigious tour, showcasing the global appeal of the Lexus Melbourne Cup. From bustling cities to remote communities, each stop on the tour offers a unique opportunity to experience the excitement of the Cup. These locations in South Australia join the likes of New York, Tokyo, Dublin, and London for the 2024 tour.
The Cup’s visit to Port Lincoln coincides with the first official barrier trials ahead of their 2024/25 season later in September. The Port Lincoln Racing Club will be hosting a fundraised alongside Williams Boxing Gym for the Melbourne Cup Tour visit.
The Melbourne Cup will also stop by Murray Bridge on its journey around South Australia. Is this a good sign for Murray Bridge local, The Map, who has already booked its spot in race that stops a nation?
The 2024 Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour will also visit the picturesque and iconic Clare Valley with the Clare Valley Racing Club hosting the Cup on Sunday 22 September. The arrival of the Melbourne Cup to Clare will begin the build up towards the 2024 Clare Valley Cup which is on Sunday 1 December.
CEO of Country Racing SA, Chris Biggs, said “It is fantastic to see to see our country clubs in South Australia get involved with the Melbourne Cup tour again this year.”
