Port Augusta Awarded Local Grant

Port Augusta Racing Club has recently been awarded a $2000 grant from the Port Augusta Explore campaign provided by the Benevolent Society and the Port Augusta City Council.

The funding will help provide free pony rides, face painting and lots of free games for children at the final race day at Port Augusta for 2023 on Sunday 27 August.

The application process was through the Port Augusta Council and these funds have allowed for the Port Augusta Racing Club to provide a wider experience for the families of Port Augusta and the surrounding areas.

According to the Port Augusta Council’s website, the Port Augusta Explore program ““EXPLORE” program will provide free family activities for the community. The “EXPLORE” program events will be held on the third weekend of each month as well as during school holidays.”

Port Augusta Racing Club Secretary, Emily Holden said, “It’s a great opportunity to bring your family and friends to the racecourse, pack a picnic basket and blanket, or enjoy the seating and catering on the course. There’s plenty for all the family!”

Port Augusta Racing Club’s final race day of 2023 will be on Sunday 27 August with gates opening at 11am.
