Kimmi Varcoe has grown up surrounded by fashion, and this has reflected in her appearances as a Fashion At The Races (FATR) entrant representing South Australia at the Myer Fashion On The Field competition, to now judging at the Millicent Racing Club FATR event on Sunday, May 29.
We had the opportunity to speak with Kimmi leading in to next weeks event, where she dropped a little hint around what she is hoping to see as a judge.
Where did your love of fashion come from?
Growing up my mum was always into fashion, so naturally we bonded over fashion together.
Where do you draw inspiration from?
I follow a lot of clothing stores on Instagram, so I keep up with the latest trends there, and also Pinterest for inspiration.
How would you describe your personal style?
I like to dress comfortably. My everyday style is definitely very casual with a neutral colour palette, but when entering in the fashions I like to dress a bit different to normal and go with a more editorial/chic style.
What has been your biggest FATR achievement?
Representing South Australia in 2018 in the Myers Fashions for Melbourne Cup week. It was amazing to feel like a fashion celebrity for a week and attend events you wouldn't normally be able to.
As a judge for the Millicent FATR event, what are you hoping to see from entrants?
To dress appropriately for the weather, boast their unique styles and above all enjoy themselves.
What advice would you give to first time entrants?
Smile, relax and have a chat with the girls on stage next to you.
